The Saskatchewan Roughriders re-signed defensive lineman Sundiata “Sunny” Anderson and placed offensive lineman Daniel Johnson on the one-game injured list on Saturday.

Sundiata “Sunny” Anderson is six foot four and weighs 247 pounds. The 25-year-old from College Park, Georgia, signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on December 15, 2025. They released him on May 10, 2026.

The Seattle Seahawks signed Anderson as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2024. In 2024, he made three tackles (1 solo, 2 assists) in three preseason games. The Seahawks released him on August 27, 2024.

Collegiately, Anderson spent six seasons at Grambling State University (2018-23) with 136 tackles (65 solos, 71 assists), 28.5 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, two pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and one blocked kick in 33 games for the Tigers. He was named a two-time First Team All-SWAC. He also played in the 2024 East-West Shrine Bowl.

In 2023, he had a career-high 60 tackles (32 solos, 28 assists), 11.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, and two forced fumbles in 11 games. He was named First Team All-SWAC.
