The Orlando Storm signed linebacker Kana’i Mauga on Tuesday, according to the UFL Transactions page.
Kana’i Mauga is six foot two and weighs 245 pounds. The 26-year-old from Waianae, Hawaii, signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. He also spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He made six tackles (3 solos, 3 assists) in 17-career NFL games. Mauga also made 30 tackles (19 solos, 11 assists) and one pass breakup in 13 preseason games.
Collegiately, Mauga spent four seasons at the University of Southern California (2018-21) with 207 tackles (106 solos, 101 assists), 16.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, three interceptions for 45 yards, nine pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 43 games for the Trojans.
In 2021, he was named Third Team All-PAC 12 by Phil Steele and an All-PAC 12 Honorable Mention after finishing the season with a career-high 91 tackles (55 solos, 36 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, three pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 12 games.
