The Dallas Renegades placed wide receiver Deontay Burnett on injured reserve on Tuesday, according to the UFL Transactions page.
Deontay Burnett is six foot and weighs 186 pounds. The 28-year-old from Compton, California, was protected by the Dallas Renegades on the reserve player list in 2026. In 2026, he made 14 catches for 152 yards and one touchdown in six games.
Before Arlington, Burnett signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent on May 11, 2018. He also spent time with the New York Jets, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Philadelphia Eagles. He made 15 catches for 210 yards in eight regular-season games.
The Houston Roughnecks drafted Burnett in the fourth round (25th pick) in Phase 1 of the 2023 XFL Draft. He made 27 catches for 378 yards and six touchdowns in nine games for the Houston Roughnecks (XFL) in 2023 and was named to the All-XFL team after the season.
The Arlington Renegades drafted Burnett in the 2024 UFL Disposal Draft. In 2024, he made 33 catches for 306 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games. The Renegades released him on July 27, 2024, and he signed with the Dallas Cowboys on July 28, 2024. Burnett made five catches for 63 yards and one carry for two yards in three preseason games. The Cowboys released him on August 26, 2024.
The Renegades re-signed Burnett on January 27, 2025. In 2025, Burnett made 30 catches for 349 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games.
Collegiately, Burnett played three seasons at USC (2015-17) with 152 catches for 1,897 yards, 16 touchdowns, five carries for 29 yards, and four punt returns for 26 yards in 39 games for the Trojans. He was named Second Team All-PAC 12 in 2017.
