The Hamilton Tiger-Cats released quarterback Jacobian Morgan, running back Micah Bernard, offensive lineman Nolan Gorczyca, linebacker Inumidun Ayo-Durojaiye, and defensive back Stephen Douglas on Sunday.
Jacobian Morgan is six foot four and weighs 228 pounds. The 24-year-old from Canton, Mississippi, signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on April 27, 2026.
Collegiately, Morgan began his collegiate career at Syracuse University (2020-22), completing 32 of 50 passes (64%) for 288 yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions, and 12 carries for -25 yards in six games for the Orange.
Then, he transferred to Jackson State University (2023-25), completing 325 of 510 passes (64%) for 4,080 yards, 40 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, 186 carries for 668 yards, 13 rushing touchdowns, and one tackle (1 solo) in 26 games for the Tigers.
His best season at JSU came in 2024, when he finished the season completing 150 of 234 passes (64%) for 2,051 yards, 19 touchdowns, eight interceptions, 88 carries for 225 yards, and four rushing touchdowns, leading the Tigers to win the SWAC championship and the Cricket Celebration Bowl title. He was also named the Cricket Celebration Bowl Offensive MVP.
Micah Bernard is five foot ten and weighs 206 pounds. The 24-year-old from Cerritos, California, signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on April 16, 2026.
The Tennessee Titans signed Bernard as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. They released him on June 2, 2025. The New England Patriots signed Bernard on August 19, 2025. In 2025, Bernard had seven carries for 16 yards in one preseason game. The Patriots released him on August 22, 2025.
Collegiately, Bernard spent six seasons at the University of Utah (2019-24) with 421 carries for 2,217 yards, 11 rushing touchdowns, 99 catches for 770 yards, five touchdowns, three kick returns for 79 yards, and 13 tackles (11 solos, 2 assists) in 47 games for the Utes. In 2024, he had a career-high 197 carries for 1,009 yards, four rushing touchdowns, 30 catches for 150 yards, and two touchdowns in 12 games.
Nolan Gorczyca is six foot six and weighs 315 pounds. The 23-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska, signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on April 27, 2026.
Collegiately, Gorczyca began his collegiate career at the University of Buffalo in 2021, where he played four games for the Bulls.
Then, he transferred to Kansas (2022-25), playing 25 games for the Jayhawks. In 2025, he played 12 games, of which three were starts. Kansas averaged 28 points per game, 390.5 yards per game, 222.3 passing yards per game, 168.2 rushing yards per game, and 42 touchdowns.
Inumidun Ayo-Durojaiye is six foot one and weighs 215 pounds. A native of Damascus, Maryland, signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on May 4, 2026.
Collegiately, Ayo-Durojaiye spent four seasons at Yale (2022-25) with 233 tackles (119 solos, 114 assists), 14 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, one interception, six pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 41 games for the Bulldogs.
In 2025, he made a career-high 109 tackles (55 solos, 54 assists), two tackles for loss, one sack, three pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 12 games.
Stephen Douglas is five foot eleven and weighs 192 pounds. The 24-year-old from Conifer, Colorado, signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on March 10, 2026.
Collegiately, Douglas began his collegiate career at Albion College (2021-22) with 42 tackles (31 solos, 11 assists), three tackles for loss, one interception for 18 yards, three pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one blocked kick in 11 games for the Britons.
Then, he transferred to Northwood University (2023-24) with 103 tackles (73 solos, 30 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions for 116 yards, one touchdown, eight pass breakups, and one blocked kick that resulted in scoring two points in 16 games for the Timberwolves.
In 2023, he was named Northwood’s Newcomer of the Year and First Team All-GMAC after finishing the season with a career-high 78 tackles (55 solos, 23 assists), three tackles for loss, two interceptions for 116 yards, one touchdown, eight pass breakups, and one blocked kick that resulted in scoring two points in 11 games. Douglas set a school record with a 100-yard pick-six touchdown.
The Tiger-Cats also announced that wide receiver Kyrese Rowan and defensive linemen Branson Deen and Brandon Brown were moved to the suspended list.
