The Edmonton Elks signed running back ShunDerrick Powell and defensive back Terez Reid on Friday.
ShunDerrick Powell is five foot nine and weighs 180 pounds. The 23-year-old from Hoxie, Arkansas, signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2025. In 2025, he had 10 carries for 23 yards, one rushing touchdown, and one catch for two yards in three preseason games. The Eagles released him on August 26, 2025. The Kansas City Chiefs signed Powell on January 6, 2026. The Chiefs released him on April 29, 2026.
Collegiately, Powell spent two seasons at the University of North Alabama (2021-22) with 214 carries for 1,575 yards, 17 rushing touchdowns, 31 catches for 317 yards, eight kick returns for 170 yards, and two tackles (2 solos) in 20 games for the Lions. He was named Second Team FCS All-American and the co-Atlantic Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
Then, he transferred to the University of Central Arkansas (2023-24) with 300 carries for 2,359 yards, 20 rushing touchdowns, completing one pass for 29 yards, 57 catches for 434 yards, four touchdowns, four kick returns for 99 yards, and three tackles (1 solo, 2 assists) in 22 games for the Bears.
In 2024, he was named First Team All-American and Second Team All-UAC after finishing the season with 164 carries for 1,343 yards, 14 rushing touchdowns, completing one pass for 29 yards, 36 catches for 318 yards, three touchdowns, and one tackle (1 solo) in 11 games.
Terez Reid is five foot ten and weighs 187 pounds. The 23-year-old from Indianapolis, Indiana, began his collegiate career at Grand Valley State University (2021-24) with 95 tackles (66 solos, 29 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, four interceptions for 22 yards, 22 pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 39 games for the Lakers. He was named a three-time Second Team All-GLIAC. In 2023, he made a career-high 41 tackles (27 solos, 14 assists), one tackle for loss, one interception, eight pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 13 games.
Next, he transferred to the University of Texas at El Paso in 2025, where he participated in spring ball. However, he left UTEP and transferred to Florida Atlantic University in 2025 with a career-high 42 tackles (31 solos, 11 assists), four tackles for loss, one interception, and nine pass breakups in 12 games for the Owls.
