Bryan De La Cruz drives in three runs to help Lehigh Valley snap a two-game skid

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (19-18) played game four on Friday night against the Buffalo Bisons (17-20) at Coca-Cola Park. Tucker Davidson was on the mound for Lehigh Valley against Hayden Juenger of Buffalo.

At the top of the first inning, Lehigh Valley starter Truck Davidson loaded the bases with one out. He struck out Willie MacIver, and a groundout by Josh Rivera ended the inning. In the bottom of the first inning, Lehigh Valley had runners on the corners when right fielder Bryan De La Cruz hit a two-run RBI double to center field. Christian Cairo and Liover Peguero scored for a 2-0 lead. A groundout by Caleb Ricketts ended the inning.

Moving to the bottom of the fourth inning, Lehigh Valley had the bases loaded with two outs, when Sergio Alcantara hit an RBI single to second base. Second baseman Josh Kasevich deflected the ball, and Liover Peguero scored. Paul McIntosh tried the score, but was called out at home plate. The IronPigs led the Bisons 3-0.

Lehigh Valley starter Tucker Davidson pitched a good game. He went six scoreless innings, allowing four hits, two walks, and four strikeouts, throwing 78 pitches, of which 55 were strikes. Jonathan Hernandez pitched for Lehigh Valley at the top of the seventh inning. Hernandez pitched two innings, allowing one hit and four strikeouts, throwing 29 pitches, of which 20 were strikes.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Lehigh Valley had a runner on third base when Bryan De La Cruz hit an RBI single to right field. Otto Kemp scored for a 4-0 lead. With two outs, a flyout by Robert Moore ended the inning.

Nolan Hoffman pitched for Lehigh Valley at the top of the ninth inning. He walked one and struck out two, throwing 24 pitches, of which 11 were strikes, to get the final three outs of the game. The IronPigs snapped a two-game losing streak with a 4-0 win over the Bisons.

Lehigh Valley finished the night with nine hits, 4 for 11 with runners in scoring position, and left seven men on base. Bryan De La Cruz went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs. The win went to Lehigh Valley starter Tucker Davidson (2-1), and the loss went to Buffalo starter Hayden Juenger (0-2).

The IronPigs and Bisons play game five on Saturday at 6:35 pm on the MLB App. Alan Rangel (2-3, 2.56 ERA) will be on the mound for Lehigh Valley against C.J. Van Eyk (1-1, 3.54 ERA) of Buffalo.
