The Edmonton Elks signed wide receiver Joshua Cephus on Thursday, according to the CFL Transactions page.
Joshua Cephus is six foot two and weighs 193 pounds. The 25-year-old from Houston, Texas, Cephus signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. He was also drafted by the San Antonio Brahmas in the 10th round (79th pick) of the 2024 UFL College Draft.
In Jacksonville, Cephus made eight catches for 57 yards and one carry for one yard in five preseason games. He also appeared in one NFL regular-season game. The Jaguars released him on August 20, 2025.
Collegiately, Cephus spent five seasons at the University of Texas at San Antonio (2019-23) with 313 catches for 3,639 yards, 28 touchdowns, eight carries for -1 yard, completing 4 of 6 passes (66.7%) for one touchdown, one interception, one kick return for 12 yards, one punt return for 16 yards, and two tackles (2 solos) in 64 games for the Roadrunners.
In 2023, he was named First Team All-AAC after finishing the season with a career-high 89 catches for 1,151 yards, 10 touchdowns, one carry for -9 yards, and one punt return for 16 yards in 13 games.
