The Orlando Storm signed defensive back Nate Brooks on Monday according to the UFL Transactions page. They also placed defensive back Lamar Jackson on injured reserve.

Nate Brooks is six foot and weighs 190 pounds. The 29-year-old from Whitehouse, Texas, was drafted by the St. Louis Battlehawks in the 2026 UFL Draft. He attended training camp before the team released him on March 19, 2026.

The Arizona Cardinals signed Brooks as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2019. Brooks had stints with the New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tennessee Titans, and the Las Vegas Raiders. Brooks played four career NFL games with the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens, of which two were starts with 11 tackles (10 solos, 1 assist).

Next, the Birmingham Stallions signed Brooks as a free agent on December 3, 2022. In 2023, Brooks made 43 tackles (29 solos, 14 assists), two interceptions for 66 yards, one fumble recovery, and six pass breakups in ten games. The Michigan Panthers drafted Brooks in the first round (5th pick) of the 2024 UFL Super Draft. In 2024, Brooks made 36 tackles (26 solos, 10 assists), two tackles for loss, one interception, and six pass breakups in 10 games and was named to the All-UFL Team after the season.

The Michigan Panthers re-signed Brooks on July 25, 2024, and signed with the Cincinnati Bengals on July 26, 2024. In 2024, he made 11 tackles (7 solos, 4 assists) in three preseason games. He spent the season on the practice squad. In 2025, he made 11 tackles (7 solos, 4 assists) and three pass breakups in three preseason games. The Bengals released him on August 25, 2025.

Collegiately, Brooks played four seasons at North Texas (2015-18) with 193 tackles (135 solos, 58 assists), 10 tackles for loss, one sack, 10 interceptions for 69 yards, 29 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 48 games for the Mean Green. He was named Second Team All-Conference USA in 2018.

Lamar Jackson is six foot two and weighs 206 pounds. The 28-year-old from Elk Grove, California, was drafted by the Orlando Storm in the 2026 UFL Draft. In 2026, Jackson made two tackles (2 assists) and one pass breakup in three games.

The New York Jets signed Jackson as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2020. He also spent time with the Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Carolina Panthers. Jackson made 31 tackles (29 solos, 2 assists), one tackle for loss, and four pass breakups in 25-career NFL games.

Collegiately, Jackson spent four seasons at Nebraska (2016-19) with 123 tackles (92 solos, 31 assists), six tackles for loss, two sacks, five interceptions, 22 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 47 games for the Cornhuskers.

In 2019, he was named Second Team All-Big Ten, Nebraska Defensive MVP, and won the Guy Chamberlin Trophy after finishing the season with a career-high 40 tackles (30 solos, 10 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions, 12 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 12 games.
