The Toronto Argonauts released offensive lineman Sage Doxtater on Monday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Sage Doxtater is six foot seven and weighs 350 pounds. The 27-year-old from London, Ontario, re-signed with the Argonauts on December 2, 2024. In 2025, Doxtater played 11 games. Toronto averaged 25.2 points per game, 334.1 yards per game, 304.6 passing yards per game, 51.6 rushing yards per game, and 38 touchdowns.

The Toronto Argonauts drafted Doxtater in the second round (12th pick) in the 2021 CFL Draft, but chose to return to New Mexico State for his final season.

Doxtater would sign with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. In 2022, he injured his elbow and was unable to play in the preseason. The Saints released him on August 23, 2022. Next, Doxtater signed with the Arizona Cardinals practice squad on October 26, 2022.

The Cardinals released him on November 15, 2022, and he returned to New Orleans on January 4, 2023. Then, Doxtater signed with the Houston Roughnecks (XFL) in 2023 and played left tackle in five games.

The St. Louis Battlehawks drafted Doxtater in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft, and he signed with St. Louis on January 24, 2024. However, he was placed on injured reserve on March 10, 2024, and missed the entire season. The Toronto Argonauts signed Doxtater to the practice squad on October 5, 2024.

Collegiately, Doxtater played six seasons at New Mexico State University (2016-21), playing left tackle in 49 games for the Aggies. In 2019, New Mexico State’s offense averaged 217.6 passing yards per game and 143.5 rushing yards per game. He was named to the 2016 Sun Belt Conference All-Newcomer Team.
