The NASCAR Cup Series visited Phoenix Raceway on Sunday afternoon in the Straight Talk Wireless 500. Joey Logano started the race on the pole, with Kyle Larson starting second.

Joey Logano led the opening 46 laps. After making a pit stop, Ryan Blaney was the new leader. He would lead the final 16 laps to win the first stage. In the second stage, there were four cautions, including a three-car crash between Chase Elliott, Daniel Suarez, and Josh Berry on lap 104.

Those four cautions were part of a total of 12 cautions for 86 laps, which tied a track record. Christopher Bell went on to win the second stage. In the final stage, there were eight cautions, including two of them that had five cars or more involved. Late in the race, Christopher Bell was leading when a four-car crash on lap 295 that involved John Hunter Nemechek, Ty Dillon, Zane Smith, and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

With 10 laps to go, Ryan Blaney passed Christopher Bell for the lead. Blaney led the final 10 laps to win his first race by 0.399 seconds over Christopher Bell. The win also completed the weekend sweep after Team Penske IndyCar driver Josef Newgarden won on Saturday. For Blaney, it was his second win at Phoenix Raceway and 18th career Cup Series win.

Kyle Larson, Ty Gibbs, and Denny Hamlin rounded out the top five. Bubba Wallace, William Byron, Tyler Reddick, Michael McDowell, and Erik Jones completed the top ten.

The Cup Series heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for next Sunday’s Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube at 4 pm on FS1.
