This past Wednesday, the United Football League (UFL) held the 2026 Draft, and the Louisville Kings selected Vienna Vikings tight end Florian Bierbaumer.
Florian Bierbaumer is six foot six and weighs 256 pounds. The 27-year-old from Austria participated in the UFL International Showcase and was a participant of the NFL International Player Pathway Program in 2024.
Bierbaumer began to play football at 15 years old for the Graz Giants in the Central European Football League, where they won the championship in 2016. The Vienna Vikings signed Bierbaumer on February 27, 2022. In 2022, he made 12 catches on 17 targets for 216 yards and three touchdowns in three games, when the Vikings won the ELF Championship over the Hamburg Sea Devils.
The Vikings re-signed him on December 7, 2022. In 2023, he made 36 catches on 48 targets for 556 yards and five touchdowns in 11 games. In the playoffs, he made four catches on six targets for 68 yards and one touchdown. Bierbaumer was named an ELF All-Star.
In 2024, he made 17 catches on 24 targets for 208 yards and four touchdowns in nine games. In the playoffs, Bierbaumer made 10 catches on 18 targets for 119 yards and three touchdowns, helping the Vikings appear in the ELF Championship game against the Rhein Fire.
The Vikings re-signed Bierbaumer on December 23, 2024. In 2025, he made 36 catches on 49 targets for 480 yards and 10 touchdowns in 10 games. In the playoffs, he made eight catches on 14 targets for 84 yards, helping the Vikings appear in their second straight ELF Championship game against the Stuttgart Surge.
