The B.C. Lions signed running veteran back Peyton Barber on Thursday.
Peyton Barber is five foot eleven and weighs 225 pounds. The 31-year-old from Roswell, Georgia, signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2016. He played four seasons in Tampa Bay with 551 carries for 1,987 yards, 15 rushing touchdowns, 57 catches for 349 yards, two touchdowns, and six tackles (5 solos, 1 assist) in 63 games, of which 28 were starts. He became a free agent after the 2019 season.
The Washington Football Team signed Barber on March 26, 2020. In 2020, he had 94 carries for 258 yards, four rushing touchdowns, four catches for 12 yards, and two tackles (2 solos) in 16 games. In 2021, he had 13 carries for 34 yards, one rushing touchdown, two catches for five yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in three preseason games. The Football Team, later renamed the Commanders, released him on September 1, 2021.
The Las Vegas Raiders signed Barber on September 6, 2021. Barber had 55 carries for 212 yards, 12 rushing touchdowns, 10 catches for 67 yards, and two kick returns for 49 yards in 10 games.
Collegiately, Barber spent three seasons at Auburn University (2013-15) with 248 carries for 1,071 yards, 13 rushing touchdowns, 11 catches for 112 yards, and two tackles (2 solos) in 19 games for the Tigers.
