The Villanova Wildcats (12-2, 5-2) visited Tarleton Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon to take on the Tarleton State Texans (12-2, 7-1) in the FCS Quarterfinals. Villanova’s offense had 426 yards (207 yards passing, 219 yards rushing), 23 first downs, and the team was penalized nine times for 84 yards in a 26-21 win to move on to the Semi-Finals.
Quarterback Pat McQuaide completed 16 of 33 passes (48%) for 180 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and seven carries for 22 yards. Running back Ja’briel Mace had 18 carries for 151 yards, one rushing touchdown, and three catches for 19 yards.
Wide receiver Luke Colella made five catches for 71 yards, while Braden Reed made five catches for 42 yards, one touchdown, and completed one pass for 27 yards and one passing touchdown.
The defense allowed 266 yards (210 yards passing, 56 yards rushing), 17 first downs, with 54 tackles, nine tackles for loss, four sacks, one interception, and two pass breakups.
Villanova will take on Illinois State next Saturday, December 20, 2025. They will either play at 4 pm on ABC or 7:30 pm on ESPN2.
