The B.C. Lions re-signed fullback Riley Pickett to a two-year contract extension through the 2027 season on Friday. Pickett was set to become a free agent in February.

Riley Pickett is six foot three and weighs 250 pounds. The 28-year-old from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, had three carries for six yards, seven catches for 56 yards, and 11 tackles on special teams in 18 games.

The B.C. Lions drafted Pickett in the fifth round (41st pick) in the 2022 CFL Draft. In 2022, Pickett made one catch for eight yards, one tackle, and two tackles on special teams in 10 games. A year later, Pickett made seven tackles in 18 games. In 2024, he made seven catches for 56 yards, one tackle, and 11 tackles on special teams in 18 games.

Collegiately, Pickett played three seasons at the University of Saskatchewan (2018-19, 2021) with 108 tackles (65 solos, 43 assists), 21 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, six pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

He is a 3-time CJFL National Champion, Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2017 (CJFL), All-Canadian (CJFL) in 2017, and a Hardy Cup Champion in 2018.
