Saskatchewan Roughriders OL Logan Ferland wins 2025 Jake Gaudaur Veterans’ Award

At the 2025 CFL Awards on Thursday night, Saskatchewan Roughriders offensive lineman Logan Ferland took home the 2025 Jake Gaudaur Veterans’ Award. This award has been presented annually since 2010.

This award was named after Jake Gaudaur, a Second World War veteran, which recognizes a Canadian CFL player who best demonstrates the attributes of Canada’s Veterans — strength, perseverance, courage, comradeship, and contribution to Canadian communities. 

Logan Ferland is six foot five and weighs 306 pounds. The 28-year-old from Melfort, Saskatchewan, re-signed with the Roughriders on March 31, 2025.

In 2025, Ferland dressed in 18 regular-season games. Saskatchewan’s offense averaged 24.8 points per game, 382.6 average net offense per game, 103.8 rushing yards per game, 289.2 passing yards per game, 45 touchdowns, and allowed 26 sacks.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed Ferland on November 28, 2019. Ferland has played in 87 games in five seasons with Saskatchewan.

In 2023, he started 18 games. Saskatchewan finished eighth in average points per game (20.3), sixth in offensive touchdowns (34), fifth in average net offense (346.4), eighth in average rushing yards (84.4), third in average passing yards (280.4), and seventh in sacks allowed (54).

The Roughriders re-signed Ferland on January 24, 2024. In 2024, Saskatchewan’s offense averaged 26.6 points per game, 355.7 net offense per game, 89.6 rushing yards per game, 278.8 passing yards per game, 45 touchdowns, and 35 sacks allowed, finishing 9-8-1 in the regular season. They were eliminated in the Western Final against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Ferland was named a CFL West All-Star and the All-CFL Team.

Ferland played five seasons for the Regina Thunder (CJFL), making one tackle and three tackles on special teams. He was named a 2018 CFFL All-Canadian and PFC All-Star Team. In 2016 and 2017, he was selected as a PFC All-Star team.
