The B.C. Lions re-signed offensive linemen Brandon Yates and Tyran Walker-Hunter to future contracts that start in 2026 on Monday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Brandon Yates is six foot four and weighs 210 pounds. A native of Middleton, Delaware, Yates went undrafted in 2025. The B.C. Lions signed Yates to the practice squad on September 8, 2025. The Lions released him on November 9, 2025.

Collegiately, Yates played five seasons at West Virginia (2020-24) after sitting out as a redshirt freshman in 2019. He played both guard and tackle in 65 games for the Mountaineers. In 2024, West Virginia averaged 29.2 points per game, 210.3 passing yards per game, 193.7 rushing yards per game, 404 yards per game, 47 touchdowns, and allowed 27 sacks, finishing 6-7 for the season.

Yates was named a two-time All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2020 and 2023, Second Team Academic All-Big 12 Conference in 2023, and First Team Academic All-Big 12 Conference.

Tyran Walker-Hunt is six foot seven and weighs 312 pounds. A native of Boykins, Virginia, Hunt signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on September 23, 2024. He attended training camp and was released on March 20, 2025.

The B.C. Lions signed Walker-Hunt on March 28, 2025. In 2025, he played in two preseason games. He spent the regular season on the practice squad. The Lions released him on November 9, 2025.

Hunt signed with the Memphis Showboats on May 23, 2023. He played three games for the Showboats. In 2023, Memphis was ranked sixth in passing yards per game (172.4), sixth in passing touchdowns (10), sixth in rushing yards per game (85.9), and seventh in rushing touchdowns (4).

Hunt signed with the Frisco Fighters (IFL) in 2024 and played 12 games. In 2024, Friso’s offense averaged 127.1 passing yards per game, 129.6 average rushing yards per game, 56.6 points per game, 76 touchdowns, and 196 first downs. The Fighters made it to the IFL playoffs but were eliminated by the Massachusetts Pirates in the first round. He was named First Team All-IFL in 2024.

Collegiately, Hunt played three seasons at Maryland (2018-20), playing eight games for the Terrapins. Then, he transferred to Old Dominion (2021-22), playing left guard in 23 games for the Monarchs. In 2021, Old Dominion’s offensive line helped Blake Watson become the second player in ODU history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season.

The Monarchs ranked fifth in C-USA with 158.3 rush yards per game. They also averaged 27.61 points per game, 214.8 passing yards per game, 373.1 total yards per game, 37 touchdowns, and allowed 32 sacks, finishing 6-7 for the season and appearing in the Myrtle Beach Bowl.

In 2022, Old Dominion’s offensive line helped Blake Watson rush for a school-record 259 yards and three touchdowns in the win at Coastal Carolina. Old Dominion averaged 19.50 points per game, 92.3 rushing yards per game, 247.2 passing yards per game, 339.4 total yards per game, 27 touchdowns, and allowed 35 sacks, finishing 3-9 for the season.
