Penn State loses its first game of the season in double overtime against Oregon

The Penn State Nittany Lions (3-1) hosted the Oregon Ducks (5-0) on Saturday night from Beaver Stadium. Penn State was down 17-3 in the fourth quarter, and scored 14 points to tie the game 17-17, and send it to overtime. It took two overtimes to decide a winner, and unfortunately, it was not Penn State as they lost to Oregon 30-24.

Penn State’s offense had 276 yards (137 yards passing, 139 yards rushing), 15 first downs, and was penalized two times for 15 yards. Quarterback Drew Allar completed 14 of 25 passes (56%) for 137 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, and nine carries for 42 yards.

Running back Kaytron Allen had 12 carries for 54 yards and one rushing touchdown. Wide receiver Devonte Ross led the receivers with four catches for 48 yards and two touchdowns, while Nicholas Singleton made three catches for 29 yards.

The defense allowed 424 yards (248 yards passing, 176 yards rushing), 20 first downs, made 74 tackles, one tackle for loss, and three pass breakups. Oregon quarterback Dante Moore completed 29 of 39 passes (74.3%) for 248 yards, three touchdowns, and 10 carries for 35 yards.
