The NTT IndyCar Series visited the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Sunday afternoon in the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio in Lexington, Ohio. Alex Palou started the race on the pole, with Christian Lundgaard starting second.

On the opening lap, Josef Newgarden spun at Turn, causing a chain reaction that also involved Will Power, Graham Rahal, and Devlin DeFrancesco. Newgarden and Power were both out of the race. There were two cautions throughout the race. The second one happened on lap 31 when Christian Rasmussen’s car had smoke coming out of the engine and stopped at Turn 9.

Alex Palou dominated the majority of the race leading 75 laps. He only lost the lead three times when he went to pit road. However, Palou made a couple of mistakes driving the car wide onto the grass, and one of them was costly.

With six laps to go, Palou drove the car wide onto the grass at Turn 9 and slowed down, allowing Scott Dixon to take the lead. Dixon led the final six laps to win his first race of the season by 0.4201 over Alex Palou. It was his 59th career IndyCar win, which is the second-most all-time.

Christian Lundgaard, Colton Herta, and Pato O’Ward rounded out the top five. Felix Rosenqvist, Marcus Armstrong, Kyle Kirkwood, Rinus VeeKay, and Kyffin Simpson rounded out the top ten. There were 123 total passes, of which 110 were for positions.

The NTT IndyCar Series heads to Iowa Speedway for a doubleheader beginning on Saturday at 5 pm on Fox and on Sunday at 1 pm on Fox.
