
The Birmingham Stallions released offensive lineman Barry Wesley on Wednesday as he is signing with an NFL team. Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 reports that the New Orleans Saints are signing Wesley.
Barry Wesley is six foot seven and weighs 310 pounds. The 25-year-old from Morrison, Colorado, signed with the Birmingham Stallions on November 13, 2024. In 2025, he played ten games, of which eight were starts.
Birmingham averaged 24.4 points per game, 221.3 passing yards per game, 4.2 rushing yards per game, 327.1 total yards per game, 26 touchdowns, and allowed 24 sacks finishing 7-3 for the season before losing to the Michigan Panthers in the USFL Conference Championship Game.
Wesley signed with the Massachusetts Pirates (IFL) in 2022 after going undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft. He attended rookie minicamps with the New York Giants and the Los Angeles Chargers in 2022. Wesley did not play for the Pirates in 2023. In 2023, Wesley signed with the Seattle Sea Dragons (XFL). He played seven games, of which five were starts.
The Sea Dragons released him on May 15, 2023, and he signed with the Atlanta Falcons on May 16, 2023. He played three preseason games and spent the season on the practice squad. In 2024, Wesley played three preseason games for Atlanta. The Falcons released him on August 27, 2024.
Collegiately, Wesley played four seasons at Colorado State (2018-21) playing right tackle and left guard in 38 games for the Rams. In 2021, Colorado State averaged 23.67 points per game, 163.9 rushing yards per game, 251.83 passing yards per game, 415.8 average total yards, and 30 touchdowns as the Rams finished 3-9 for the season.
