The Toronto Argonauts signed quarterback Jarret Doege on Tuesday. They also released punter Jeremy Edwards, and added long-snapper Adam Guillemette to the active roster.
Jarret Doege is six foot two and weighs 208 pounds. The 27-year-old from Lubbock, Texas, completed 1 of 3 passes (33%) for six yards, and one carry for five yards in four games for the Elks in 2024. The Elks released him on May 2, 2025.
The Edmonton Elks signed Doege on April 3, 2023. In 2023, he completed 42 of 65 passes (64.6%) for 587 yards, four touchdowns, four interceptions, and seven carries for five yards in 16 games.
Doege began his collegiate career at Bowling Green State University (2017-18) completing 362 of 577 passes (62.7%) for 4,041 yards, 39 touchdowns, 15 interceptions, 81 carries for -262 yards, and four touchdowns in 19 games for the Falcons. In 2018, he led the MAC in passing touchdowns (27) and passing yards (2,660).
Next, Doege transferred to West Virginia (2019-21) completing 590 of 911 passes (65%) for 6,453 yards, 40 touchdowns, 19 interceptions, 117 carries for -304 yards, and three touchdowns in 27 games for the Mountaineers.
In 2020, Doege completed 239 of 374 passes (64%) for 2,587 yards, 14 touchdowns, four interceptions, 40 carries for -101 yards, and two touchdowns in ten games. He was named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team, All-Big 12 Second Team, and All-Big 12 Fourth Team in 2020.
Then, he transferred to Troy in 2022 completing 44 of 64 passes (69%) for 575 yards, five touchdowns, three touchdowns, and 14 carries for -39 yards in seven games for the Trojans.
Jeremy Edwards is six foot five and weighs 220 pounds. The 27-year-old from Bendigo, Australia, re-signed with the Argonauts on December 2, 2024. In 2025, Edwards punted the ball seven times for 295 yards (42.1 AVG) in one preseason game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
The Toronto Argonauts drafted Edwards in the first round (7th pick) in the 2024 CFL Global Draft. In 2024, Edwards punted the ball eight times for 343 yards (42.9 AVG) with a long of 48 yards in two preseason games. He spent the 2024 season on the practice squad. The Argonauts released him on November 18, 2024.
Collegiately, Edwards played two seasons at Eastern Kentucky University (2022-23) punting the ball 84 times for 3,301 yards (39.3 AVG) with a long of 61 yards, four touchbacks, 27 fair catches, 29 from inside the 20-yard line, and nine from 50-plus yards in 23 games for the Colonels.
