The Calgary Stampeders signed wide receiver Joseph Ngata and linebacker Alex Howard on Thursday.

Joseph Ngata is six foot three and weighs 217 pounds. The 24-year-old from Reno, Nevada, signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2023. In 2023, he made six catches for 75 yards in three preseason games. In 2024, he made five catches for 88 yards in three preseason games.

He spent two seasons on the practice squad and the Eagles released him on January 14, 2025. Birmingham Stallions signed Ngata on January 23, 2025. He attended training camp and the Stallions released him on March 20, 2025.

Collegiately, Ngata played four seasons at Clemson (2019-22) making 88 catches for 1,287 yards, six touchdowns, and 14 punt returns for 206 yards in 45 games for the Tigers.

Alex Howard is six foot two and weighs 230 pounds. The 24-year-old from Cincinnati, Ohio, transferred to Duke in 2024 making 89 tackles (42 solos, 47 assists), 14.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery in 13 games for the Blue Devils. He was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention in 2024.

Collegiately, Howard played four seasons at Youngstown State (2020-23) making 142 tackles (83 solos, 59 assists), 15.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, one interception for two yards, five pass breakups, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and one kick return for 21 yards in 38 games for the Penguins.
