The Canadian Football League and Bell Media jointly announced that CFL games will air on Saturdays this fall on CTV beginning on September 7 with the Saskatchewan Roughriders visiting the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at 3 pm.

All CFL on CTV Saturday games will shift from their original 4 pm timeslots to 3 pm. In addition, CTV will air the Eastern Semi-Final, Eastern Final, and the 111th Grey Cup Game from British Columbia on November 17th.

“This is a truly special day – not only for our great game and the 111th Grey Cup, but also for every fan of Canadian football across the country,” said CFL Commissioner Randy Ambrosie. “After a stellar 2023 season filled with terrific crowds and spectacular audiences, we’re looking forward to building on that momentum alongside our partners at TSN, RDS, and now CTV.”

CTV was launched in 1961 and Bell Media purchased them in 2001. It remains Canada’s largest television network. CTV are no stranger to airing CFL games as they did from 1962 until 1986 while simulcasting the Grey Cup with CBC. This will be the first time since 2007 that CFL games will air on more than one network (TSN, CBC). Since 2008, TSN has been the exclusive broadcast partner of the CFL.

“Bell Media is primed and ready to kick off another phenomenal season of CFL action,” said Shawn Redmond, VP, Bell Media Sports. “With more preview coverage across all our platforms than ever before, along with comprehensive news and analysis, and live game coverage across TSN, RDS, and CTV for the first time ever, we can’t wait to connect with Canadian football fans for another unforgettable season.”

According to 3DownNation’s Justin Dunk, the CFL on TSN saw a ratings increase of 11.9 percent from the 2022 season. The league averaged 483,900 viewers during the 2023 season with TSN’s highest single-game rating of 975,000 between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for the annual Labour Day Classic. Their lowest rating game of 2023 was the Montreal Alouettes visiting the Ottawa Redblacks averaging 200,900 viewers.
