The Calgary Stampeders signed linebacker Shaheed Salmon on Tuesday. According to The Canadian Press’s Dan Ralph, it’s a one-year deal through the 2024 season.

Shaheed Salmon is six foot one and weighs 232 pounds. The 27-year-old from Tampa, Florida, made 21 tackles (13 solo, 8 assists), five tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one pass breakup in nine games for the New Orleans Breakers in 2023. The Breakers signed Salmon as a free agent on February 3, 2023.

However, New Orleans was not included in the USFL and XFL merger that formed the United Football League (UFL) and Salmon was drafted by the Memphis Showboats in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft but was released on March 22, 2024.
