Birmingham edges Michigan for their fourth win of the season

The Birmingham Stallions (4-2) took on the Michigan Panthers (2-4) on Saturday afternoon from Ford Field to conclude the Saturday doubleheader.

Birmingham quarterback Alex McGough completed 19 of 24 passes (79.2%) for 133 yards, two touchdowns, and 11 carries for 82 yards, and one touchdown in Birmingham’s 27-13 win over the Panthers. Running back CJ Marble led the rushers with 18 carries for 100 yards, three catches for 16 yards, one touchdown, and two kick returns for 44 yards.

Wide receiver Adrian Hardy led the receivers with four catches for 37 yards, and running backZaquandre White was second in receiving with two catches for 30 yards, and one touchdown.

Kicker Brandon Aubrey converted two field goals with a long of 40 yards and made all three extra points. Birmingham’s defense allowed 295 yards, with 55 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks, four pass breakups, and one forced fumble.

Michigan quarterback Josh Love completed 20 of 34 passes (58.8%) for 222 yards, one touchdown, and three carries for five yards. Running back Stevie Scott III led the rushers with nine carries for 46 yards, while wide receiver Trey Quinn caught seven passes for 108 yards, and Tight end Cole Hikutini caught two passes for 18 yards, and one touchdown.

Michigan’s defense allowed 312 yards, with 68 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, two pass breakups, and two forced fumbles.

Next Saturday, the Birmingham Stallions battle the New Orleans Breakers at 4 pm on FOX, while the Michigan Panthers visit the New Jersey Generals next Sunday at 5:30 pm on FS1.
