On Friday, the Reading Royals signed former Allen Americans forward Zane Franklin for the 2022-23 season.
The 23-year-old from Marwayne, Alberta, played for the University of Saskatchewan last season with six goals and 20 assists (26 assists) in 20 games. In addition, he had three assists in the playoffs. Franklin was named USports (West) All-Rookie Team.
Zane Franklin played six seasons in the WHL with the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Kamloops Blazers with 77 goals and 136 assists (213 points) in 268 games. In addition, Franklin had six goals and 11 assists (17 points) in 36 games.
In the 2020-21 season, Franklin played for the Allen Americans (ECHL) with nine goals and 23 assists (32 points). In addition, Franklin had one assist in the playoffs.
