The Calgary Stampeders signed running back Tre Stewart to the practice squad and released defensive lineman Nevaeh Sanders on Monday.
Tre Stewart is five foot ten and weighs 192 pounds. The 23-year-old from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was drafted by the Orlando Storm in the 2026 UFL Draft. In 2026, he had 28 carries for 108 yards and four catches for 27 yards in five games. The Storm released him on August 16, 2026, and he signed with the Arizona Cardinals on the same day. He had 11 carries for 52 yards, one catch for eight yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in two preseason games. The Cardinals released him on August 30, 2026.
The Minnesota Vikings signed Stewart as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. In 2025, he had eight carries for 32 yards and three catches for nine yards in three preseason games. The Vikings released him on August 24, 2025.
Collegiately, Stewart spent three seasons at Limestone University (2021-23) with 421 carries for 2,975 yards, 24 rushing touchdowns, 68 catches for 633 yards, five touchdowns, nine kick returns for 154 yards, and three tackles (3 solos) in 31 games for the Saints.
Then, he transferred to Jacksonville State University in 2024, where he was named First Team All-Conference USA with 264 carries for 1,604 yards, 23 rushing touchdowns, 15 catches for 200 yards, one touchdown, and one tackle (1 solo) in 13 games for the Gamecocks.
Nevaeh Sanders is six foot two and weighs 208 pounds. The 24-year-old from Flint, Michigan, attended the Seattle Seahawks rookie minicamp in 2026. The Calgary Stampeders signed Sanders to the practice squad on September 15, 2026.
Collegiately, Sanders spent two seasons at Iowa Western Community College (2021-22), where he was named to the President’s Honor Roll in the Summer and Fall of 2021 and Spring of 2022. He did not play a game for the Reivers. Next, he transferred to Northern Illinois (2023-24) with 12 tackles (9 solos, 3 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, one pass breakup, and two forced fumbles in 23 games for the Huskies.
Then, he transferred to Mississippi State University in 2025 with 12 tackles (7 solos, 5 assists), one tackle for loss, one sack, and two blocked kicks in 13 games for the Bulldogs.
