The NASCAR Cup Series visited Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday night in the Bass Pro Shops Night Race. Qualifying was cancelled due to rain. Kyle Larson started the race on the pole, with Joey Logano starting second.
Kyle Larson led the opening 44 laps in the first stage. There were two cautions during the first stage, one for competition on lap 44, and the other was for Erik Jones spinning on the frontstretch on lap 94. Joey Logano took the lead on lap 95, leading 83 laps to win the first stage.
In the second stage, Ryan Blaney was the new leader. During the second stage, Cody Ware spun on the backstretch after making contact with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Denny Hamlin that ended the second stage, which was won by Ryan Blaney. Blaney led 123 laps.
In the final stage, Ty Gibbs made his way to the front to battle Blaney for the lead. By lap 352, Gibbs had taken the lead from Blaney. With under 100 laps to go, Carson Hocevar was leading the race. However, Gibbs fought back to take the lead. On lap 432, Cole Custer, Ty Gibbs, and Alex Bowman went three-wide on the frontstretch, resulting in Bowman spinning and hitting the wall as Carson Hocevar took the lead.
Ty Gibbs would get the lead back on lap 442. Ryan Blaney was in second, and Hocevar was third. Late in the race, Ryan Blaney took third away from Kyle Larson and began his pursuit of Hocevar for second. Blaney got by Hocevar and attempted to block him, but Hocevar hit him, sending Blaney into the wall at Turn 1.
With six laps to go, Hocevar challenged Gibbs for the lead. Gibbs got loose, allowing Joey Logano to take the lead. Logano led the final seven laps to win his third win of the season by 1.248 seconds over Kyle Larson. Logano led 93 of 500 laps, while Ryan Blaney led a race-high 202 laps.
