The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series kicked off the Chase on Saturday night at Darlington Raceway in the Fleetio 200. Carson Kvapil started the race on the pole, with Justin Allgaier starting second.
Justin Allgaier led the opening 35 laps before Preston Pardus had an accident on the frontstretch to bring out the first caution. Allgaier lost the lead to Jesse Love on the restart. Brandon Jones took the lead on lap 37, but Allgaier would get it back two laps later and went on to win the first stage.
In the second stage, there were three cautions, including on lap 69 involving Corey Day and William Sawalich. Both drivers stayed in the race, while Anthony Alfredo won the second stage.
In the final stage, Corey Day led a lap before losing the lead to Sheldon Creed on lap 95. Creed led 53 of 147 laps to win his second race of the season by 2.961 seconds over Corey Day. Brent Crews, Sammy Smith, and Austin Hill rounded out the top five. Anthony Alfredo, Taylor Gray, Sam Mayer, Jeremy Clements, and Brandon Jones completed the top ten.
There were eight lead changes among seven drivers. Justin Allgaier led a race-high 60 laps but finished in 17th place, and there were seven cautions for 38 laps.
The O’Reilly Auto Parts Series heads to World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway next Saturday at 7:30 pm on The CW.
