The Canadian Football League (CFL) suspended B.C. Lions fullback Jacob Bond for two games for testing positive for the banned substance D-amphetamine, which is classified as a non-specified stimulant on the policy’s Prohibited List on Wednesday.
Under the policy, players who are first-time violators are suspended for two games, second time is nine games, and a third is a lifetime ban. During his suspension, Bond cannot participate in regular season or postseason games.
Jacob Bond is six foot three and weighs 236 pounds. The 23-year-old from Kelowna, British Columbia, made nine tackles on special teams in 12 games in 2026.
The B.C. Lions signed Bond on May 5, 2025, as a territorial exemption. He played one preseason game mainly on special teams, recording no stats. The Lions released him on May 29, 2025. The Lions re-signed Bond on July 12, 2025. In 2025, he made eight tackles on special teams in eight games.
Bond played for the Okanagan Sun (CJFL) (2021-24) with 43 tackles (33 solos, 10 assists), six tackles on special teams, one sack, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, one carry for two yards, and one touchdown in nine games. He was named BCFC Defensive Player of the Year in 2024.
