The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series visited Daytona International Speedway for the final race of the regular season in the Winn-Dixie 250 Powered by Coca-Cola. Rajah Caruth started the race on the pole with Carson Kvapil starting second.
The race was clean for 28 laps until the closing laps of the first stage when Patrick Staropoli spun at Turn 3, collecting other drivers including Brent Crews, Daniel Dye, Sam Mayer, Natalie Decker, and Josh Williams. The caution would end the first stage, which was won by Austin Hill, who led 12 laps.
Ten laps into the second stage, Sammy Smith got turned on the frontstretch, collecting Corey Day, William Sawalich, Jeremy Clements, and Anthony Alfredo. Late in the second stage, Austin Hill got turned in the trioval and did not get hit. The caution came out, and Rajah Caruth won the second stage.
In the closing laps of the final stage, Rajah Caruth spun from second place on the backstretch before smacking the wall at Turn 3, sending the race to overtime. In overtime, Ryan Sieg surged to the inside lane to take the lead from Carson Kvapil. Sieg led two laps to win his first career O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race by 0.149 seconds over Austin Hill. This was Sieg’s 424th-career O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race.
Carson Kvapil, Anthony Alfredo, and Brandon Jones rounded out the top five. Justin Allgaier, Brennan Poole, Harrison Burton, Jeb Burton, and Sheldon Creed completed the top ten. Kvapil led a race-high 50 of 100 laps. There were 21 lead changes, and four cautions for 25 laps.
The O’Reilly Auto Parts Series begins The Chase next Saturday at Darlington Raceway at 7:30 pm on The CW.
