The B.C. Lions signed defensive back Mac McCain III on Friday.
Mac McCain III is six foot and weighs 185 pounds. The 28-year-old from Greensboro, North Carolina, signed with the St. Louis Battlehawks on June 4, 2025. He re-signed with the Battlehawks on January 28, 2026. He attended training camp before the team released him on March 19, 2026.
The Denver Broncos signed McCain III as an undrafted free agent on May 14, 2021. He also spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, Carolina Panthers, San Antonio Brahmas, and the New Orleans Saints.
McCain III made 12 tackles (10 solos, 2 assists) and one pass breakup in six preseason games. He played two regular-season games for the Eagles in 2021 with three tackles (1 solo, 2 assists).
Collegiately, McCain III played three seasons at North Carolina A&T (2017-19) with 113 tackles (66 solos, 26 assists), eight interceptions, three touchdowns, 28 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 29 games for the Aggies. He was named a two-time First Team All-MEAC, Second Team All-MEAC, and All-American by Hero Sports, AP, Phil Steele, and BoxToRow.
