The Montreal Alouettes signed linebacker Quinn Urwiler on Thursday.
Quinn Urwiler is six foot and weighs 226 pounds. A native of Mooseheart, Illinois, Urwiler attended the Seattle Seahawks rookie minicamp in 2026.
Collegiately, Urwiler began his collegiate career at the University of North Dakota (2020-21) with 13 tackles (7 solos, 6 assists), 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and one pass breakup in 15 games for the Fighting Hawks.
Then, he transferred to Northern Illinois University (2022-25) with 188 tackles (97 solos, 91 assists), nine tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one interception, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 42 games for the Huskies. In 2025, Urwiler was named First Team All-MAC by Phil Steele and Second Team All-MAC after finishing the season with a career-high 141 tackles (71 solos, 70 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one interception, one pass breakup, and one forced fumble in 12 games.
His 141 tackles were the most by an NIU player since Tony Smith (142) in 1992, and only the fourth NIU player to have 140+ tackles since 1990. He also led the FBS, averaging 5.9 solo tackles per game, and ranked third with an average of 11.8 tackles per game. Urwiler also helped the Huskies win the 2023 Camellia Bowl and the 2024 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
