The Montreal Alouettes signed running back Rushawn Baker to the practice squad on Monday.

Rushawn Baker is five foot eleven and weighs 218 pounds. The 23-year-old from Farmington, New York, signed with the Edmonton Elks on April 24, 2026. In 2026, he had eight carries for 47 yards and one catch for seven yards in one preseason game. The Elks released him on May 31, 2026.

The New York Giants signed Baker as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. He suffered a knee injury and missed training camp. The Giants released him on August 12, 2025. The New England Patriots signed Baker to the practice squad on October 28, 2025. They released him on November 28, 2025.

Collegiately, Baker spent three seasons at Bucknell (2021-23) with 335 carries for 1,359 yards, 15 rushing touchdowns, 26 catches for 176 yards, two touchdowns, and two tackles (2 solos) in 30 games for the Bison.

Then, he transferred to Elon in 2024, where he was named an All-CAA Honorable Mention and Fifth Team All-CAA by Phil Steele after finishing the season with a career-high 183 carries for 859 yards, nine rushing touchdowns, and eight catches for 48 yards in 12 games for the Phoenix.
