The Edmonton Elks signed defensive lineman Carmine Bastone to the practice squad on Monday.
Carmine Bastone is six foot two and weighs 300 pounds. A native of St. Charles, Illinois, Bastone attended rookie minicamps of the New York Jets and the Kansas City Chiefs in 2026.
Collegiately, Bastone spent five seasons at Northwestern University (2021-25) with 68 tackles (34 solos, 34 assists), nine tackles for loss, six sacks, one pass breakup, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 39 games for the Wildcats.
In 2025, he was awarded the No.1 jersey, the highest honor in the program, as voted by his teammates. Bastone made a career-high 30 tackles (12 solos, 18 assists), four tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery in 13 games.
