The Repco Supercars Championship kicked off the betr Darwin Triple Crown on Friday evening at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin, Northern Territory, for Race 17 of the 2026 season. The race was set for 35 laps. Brodie Kostecki started the race on the pole, with Anton De Pasquale starting second.

On the opening lap, Waters quickly passed Matthew Payne for third place. The Monster Energy Mustang was fast, quickly catching and passing De Pasquale for second place. Not long after, he caught and passed Kostecki for the lead. Ryan Wood and Anton De Pasquale went to pit road on laps six and seven. Kostecki went to pit road a lap later.

Despite teams making pit stops for fresh tires, Waters was putting on quick lap times. On lap 19, Cam Waters went to pit road as Brodie Kostecki re-took the lead. Waters quickly caught and passed Kostecki for the lead on lap 23. Not long after, Matthew Payne passed Kostecki for second place.

With three laps to go, David Reynolds was spun by Jack Le Brocq, leading to a safety car and a one-lap dash to the finish. Le Brocq was issued a 15-second penalty. On the restart, Payne looked a couple of times to pass Waters, but his car was too strong. Waters would go on to end a 47-race winless streak by .448 seconds over Kai Allen.

Matthew Payne, Brodie Kostecki, and William Brown rounded out the top five. Anton De Pasquale, Chaz Mostert, Ryan Wood, Jayden Ojeda, and Macauley Jones completed the top ten. Click here to see the full results.
