The New Orleans Saints signed Houston Gamblers quarterback Hunter Dekkers and wide receiver Jalen Moreno-Cropper on Wednesday.
Hunter Dekkers is six foot three and weighs 215 pounds. The 24-year-old from Hawarden, Iowa, was drafted by the Houston Gamblers in the 2026 UFL Quarterback Draft. In 2026, Dekkers completed 69 of 112 passes (61.4%) for 749 yards, three touchdowns, two interceptions, 13 carries for 74 yards, and two rushing touchdowns in five games.
The New Orleans Saints signed Dekkers as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2025. He did not play in the preseason and spent time on and off the practice squad in 2025. The Saints released him on December 31, 2025.
Collegiately, Dekkers spent three seasons at Iowa State (2021-22), completing 327 of 500 passes (65%) for 3,355 yards, 22 touchdowns, 15 interceptions, 96 carries for 146 yards, four rushing touchdowns, and two tackles (2 solos) in 19 games for the Cyclones. He was a Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2022.
Dekkers sat out in 2023 before transferring to Iowa Western in 2024, completing 287 of 448 passes (64.1%) for 3,800 yards, 32 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and 44 carries for -11 yards in 13 games for the Reivers, leading them to an 11-2 record and a spot in the national championship game.
Jalen Moreno-Cropper is six foot and weighs 172 pounds. The 25-year-old from Parlier, California, signed with the Houston Gamblers on February 11, 2026. In 2026, he made 22 catches for 291 yards in seven games.
The Dallas Cowboys signed Moreno-Cropper as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023. In 2023, he made three catches for 35 yards in three preseason games. In 2024, he made five catches for 32 yards, one carry for seven yards, one kickoff return for 24 yards, and two punt returns for 17 yards in three preseason games. Moreno-Cropper dressed for one regular-season game.
In 2025, he made three catches for 17 yards, one carry for four yards, five kick returns for 133 yards, three punt returns for 24 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in three preseason games. He spent the season on the practice squad.
Collegiately, Moreno-Cooper spent four seasons at Fresno State (2018-22) with 220 catches for 2,701 yards, 21 touchdowns, 50 carries for 465 yards, five rushing touchdowns, 14 kick returns for 297 yards, completing 2 of 3 passes (66.7%) for 87 yards, two touchdowns, and one tackle (1 solo) in 43 games for the Bulldogs. He was named an All-Mountain West Honorable Mention in 2020, Second Team All-Mountain West in 2021, and First Team All-Mountain West in 2022.
