Report: D.C. Defenders wide receiver Erik Ezukanma to sign with Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are signing D.C. Defenders wide receiver Erik Ezukanma on Tuesday, according to Michael Del Negro.

Erik Ezukanma is six foot one and weighs 210 pounds. The 26-year-old from Fort Worth, Texas, signed with the D.C. Defenders on February 7, 2026. In 2026, he made 15 catches for 227 yards and one touchdown in 10 games. In the UFL playoffs, he made four catches for 37 yards in two games.

The Miami Dolphins drafted Ezukanma in the fourth round (125th pick) in the 2022 NFL Draft. He played four seasons in Miami with one catch for three yards and five carries for 22 yards in five games.

In 2025, he made six catches for 45 yards and one kick return for 37 yards in three preseason games. The Dolphins released him on August 26, 2025. The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Ezukanma to the practice squad on August 28, 2025. They released him on October 7, 2025.

Collegiately, Ezukanma spent four seasons at Texas Tech (2018-21) with 138 catches for 2,165 yards, 15 touchdowns, 10 carries for 138 yards, two rushing touchdowns, and two tackles (2 solos) in 35 games for the Red Raiders. He was named Second Team All-Big 12 in 2021 and First Team All-Big 12 in 2020.
