Toronto Argonauts extend wide receiver Kevin Mital through 2027

The Toronto Argonauts extended the contract of wide receiver Kevin Mital through the 2027 season on Thursday.

Kevin Mital is six foot one and weighs 215 pounds. The 27-year-old from Saint-Hubert, Quebec, made one catch for -1 yard in one preseason game in 2026.

The Toronto Argonauts drafted Mital in the first round (5th pick) in the 2024 CFL Draft. In 2024, he made 18 catches for 201 yards and one carry for nine yards in 12 games when the Argonauts won the 111th Grey Cup. In 2025, he was named the team’s nominee for the Most Outstanding Canadian Award after finishing the season with 102 catches for 886 yards, four touchdowns, two carries for two yards, and six tackles in 18 games.

Collegiately, Mital started at Syracuse in 2019 as a redshirt freshman. Then, he transferred to the University of Laval (2021-23) with 125 catches for 1,585 yards, 22 touchdowns, eight carries for 96 yards, two touchdowns, and four tackles (3 solos, 1 assist) in 20 games for the Rouge Et Or. He was named Second Team All-Canadian in 2022 and named a three-time RSEQ All-Star.

Mital was named the 57th Vanier Cup game’s Most Valuable Player as the Rouge et Or defeated the Saskatchewan Huskies by a score of 30–24. In addition, Mital won the 2022 U Sports Hec Creighton Award after making 58 catches for 751 yards, 12 touchdowns, four carries for 25 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in eight games.
