Montreal Alouettes sign WR Terique Owens, three others to practice squad

The Montreal Alouette signed offensive lineman Anthony Vandal, wide receivers Terique Owens and Kaseem Ferdinand, and defensive lineman Ty Anderson.

Anthony Vandal is six foot four and weighs 290 pounds. The 28-year-old from Sorel-Tracy, Quebec, played in two preseason games for the Argonauts in 2026. The Argonauts released him on May 31, 2026.

The Toronto Argonauts drafted Vandal in the eighth round (72nd pick) in the 2023 CFL Draft. He played 35 games for the Argonauts in 2024 and 2025, winning a Grey Cup in 2024.

Collegiately, Vandal played at Sherbrooke and was named a RESQ All-Star three times and Second Team All-Star for the entirety of U SPORTS.

Terique Owens is six foot three and weighs 200 pounds. The 26-year-old from Pleasanton, California, signed with the Montreal Alouettes on January 19, 2026. In 2026, Owens played in two preseason games. The Alouettes released him on May 30, 2026.

The San Francisco 49ers signed Owens as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. He suffered an injury and was placed on injured reserve.

He was released on August 15, 2024, and re-signed with the 49ers on October 2, 2024. The 49ers re-signed Owens on January 6, 2025. In 2025, Owens made two catches for 39 yards and one touchdown in three preseason games. The 49ers released him on August 26, 2025.

Next, he transferred to Florida Atlantic University (2019-20), where he played four games for the Owls with no stats. Then, he transferred to Missouri State (2021-23) with 46 catches for 765 yards and four touchdowns in 26 games for the Bears. He is the son of NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Owens.

Kaseem Ferdinand is five foot nine and weighs 176 pounds. The 24-year-old from Ottawa, Ontario, went undrafted in the 2025 CFL Draft. The Montreal Alouettes signed Ferdinand on May 13, 2025. In 2025, he made one catch for 14 yards in one preseason game.

The Alouettes released him on May 31, 2025. Montreal re-signed Ferdinand to the practice squad on July 28, 2025. In 2025, he dressed for four games. The Alouettes released him on November 17, 2025.

Collegiately, Ferdinand played four seasons at Carleton (2021-24) with 147 catches for 1,836 yards (63.3 AVG/G), 18 touchdowns, 13 carries for 80 yards, three kick returns for 64 yards, 61 punt returns for 748 yards, and two tackles (2 solos) in 29 games for the Ravens. In 2024, he made 42 catches for 645 yards, six touchdowns, and 14 punt returns for 164 yards in eight games.

Ty Anderson is six foot three and weighs 283 pounds. The 23-year-old from Calgary, Alberta, appeared in two preseason games for the Tiger-Cats in 2026. The Tiger-Cats released him on May 31, 2026.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats drafted Anderson in the fourth round (36th pick) of the 2025 CFL Draft. In 2025, he appeared in two preseason games. The Tiger-Cats placed him on the practice squad.

Collegiately, Anderson played four seasons at the University of Alberta (2021-24) with 59 tackles (33 solos, 26 assists), 4.5 tackles for loss, half a sack, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and two blocked kicks in 25 games for the Golden Bears. He also played in the 2024 East-West Bowl.
