The Toronto Argonauts signed wide receiver Michael Buckley on Thursday.

Michael Buckley is six foot and weighs 179 pounds. The 23-year-old from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, spent five seasons at the University of New Mexico (2021-25) with 15 catches for 176 yards, completed 1 of 2 passes (50%) for 41 yards, one touchdown, one kick return for 32 yards, and four punt returns for four yards in 18 games for the Lobos.

In 2024, he had a career-high eight catches for 103 yards, one punt return for four yards in 11 games. In 2025, he made seven catches for 73 yards, completed 1 of 2 passes (50%) for 41 yards, and one touchdown in six games.

Buckley attended the Instituto Peninsular in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in his freshman year before moving to the United States at 16 years old, where he attended Santa Margarita High School in California for the next three years. As a senior, he finished in the top three in the Trinity League with 17 catches for 349 yards and six touchdowns. Buckley was named First Team All-Trinity League.
