The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed defensive back Devodric Bynum on Sunday.
Devodric Bynum is five foot eleven and weighs 195 pounds. The 27-year-old from Dallas, Texas, signed with the Calgary Stampeders on February 10, 2026. In 2026, he made four tackles against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in a preseason game. The Stampeders released him on May 29, 2026.
The Edmonton Elks signed Bynum on January 12, 2024. In 2024, he made 23 tackles, five interceptions, and one forced fumble in 14 games. In 2025, he made 17 tackles in five games.
Collegiately, Bynum played one season at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in 2018 with 40 tackles (18 solos, 22 assists), one tackle for loss, one sack, one interception for 76 yards, one touchdown, four pass breakups, two kick returns for 71 yards, and two punt returns for 27 yards in nine games for the Golden Norsemen.
Then, Bynum transferred to the University of Birmingham-Alabama (2019-22) with 60 tackles (47 solos, 13 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, 15 pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 43 games for the Blazers.
The Tiger-Cats released the following players: Running backs Avery Morrow and Trent Battle, wide receivers Xavier Malone, JerJuan Newton, Moochie Dixon, Blayne Taylor, and Kyrese Rowan, offensive linemen Riley Schick, Eric Lofton, Julian Pearl, and Temi Ajirotutu, defensive linemen Caiden Woullard, Kene Onyeka, Ty Anderson, and Kyler Laing, linebacker Marc Rondeau, and defensive backs Kaleb Ford-Dement, Zyon Gilbert, Cameron Stone, Stephen Douglas, Jordan Kwiatkowski, and Cameron Bergeron, and kicker Zachary Copeland.
The following players were placed on the practice squad: Running back Nahree Biggins, wide receiver Jaelen Gill, tight end Jevoni Robinson, offensive linemen Brayden Szeman and Jakub Szott, defensive linemen De’Jon Benton, Brian Ugwu, and Aamarii Notice, linebacker Craig Young, and defensive backs Zamari Walton, Ronan Horrall, and Jake Nitychoruk, and punter Nick Haberer.
