The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed offensive lineman Connor Klassen on Tuesday.
Connor Klassen is six foot three and weighs 311 pounds. The 25-year-old from Big River, Saskatchewan, was drafted by the B.C. Lions in the fourth round (37th pick) of the 2025 CFL Draft. He suffered an injury during training camp, and the Lions released Klassen on May 21, 2025. He re-signed with the Lions on November 20, 2025. The Lions released him on May 9, 2026.
Klassen played three seasons with the Regina Thunder (CJFL), helping them win a Prairie Football Conference championship in 2022. Klassen was named the PFC’s Outstanding Lineman and a First-Team All-Canadian with the Thunder in 2022. He also earned PFC all-star recognition two times (2021-22).
Collegiately, Klassen spent three seasons at the University of Regina (2023-25), playing right tackle in 16 games for the Rams. He missed the 2025 season due to injury. In 2024, Regina averaged 19.82 points per game, 131.8 rushing yards per game, 234.55 passing yards per game, 355.6 total yards per game, 21 touchdowns, and allowed seven sacks, finishing 5-6 for the season. He was named a two-time Academic All-Canadian.
In another move, the Roughriders released defensive lineman Marcus Haynes.
Marcus Haynes is six foot four and weighs 240 pounds. The 28-year-old from Bowie, Maryland, signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on January 22, 2026. He appeared in two preseason games with no stats.
The Denver Broncos signed Haynes as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023. In 2023, he made five tackles (3 solos, 2 assists) and one pass breakup in three preseason games. He spent part of the season on the practice squad.
The Broncos released him on November 27, 2023, and he signed with the Houston Texans on February 16, 2024. The Texans released him on June 4, 2024. Haynes signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on August 2, 2024. San Antonio released him on August 6, 2024.
In 2024, he split his time between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns with three tackles (2 solos, 1 assist) in two preseason games. He spent the majority of the season on Pittsburgh’s practice squad before getting released on October 1, 2024, and the Browns re-signed him on October 9, 2024, and he spent the rest of the season on the practice squad. The Browns re-signed Haynes on January 6, 2025. They released him on May 12, 2025.
Haynes signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on May 19, 2025. In 2025, Haynes made seven tackles (5 solos, 2 assists), two tackles for loss, and one sack in two games. The Brahmas released him on August 14, 2025.
Collegiately, Haynes played six seasons at Old Dominion (2017-22) with 102 tackles (55 solos, 47 assists), 22 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, four forced fumbles, and five pass breakups in 49 games for the Monarchs.
