The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed wide receiver Kenneth Womack and defensive linemen Arnold Young and Michael Fletcher on Monday.
Kenneth Womack is six foot and weighs 195 pounds. The 25-year-old from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on October 1, 2025. The Blue Bombers released him on May 14, 2026.
Collegiately, Womack was a dual-sport player, playing both football and basketball at Sacred Heart University (2020-22). In football, he made 98 catches (12.6 AVG) for 1,234 yards (47.5 AVG), five receiving touchdowns, 11 carries for 56 yards, one kick return for 19 yards, and three tackles in 26 games for the Pioneers. He was named Preseason All-NEC in 2022. In 2022, he led Sacred Heart with 721 receiving yards, including a season-high 173 yards against Stonehill.
In basketball, Womack averaged 12.5 minutes per game, 2.9 points per game, scored a career-high 15 points against FDU in 2022-23, and had 19 rebounds in 17 games. In the 2022-23 season, Womack averaged 3.4 points per game.
Then, he transferred to Western Michigan (2023-24) with 115 catches (10.7 AVG) for 1,236 yards (56.2 AVG), two receiving touchdowns, and two carries for 10 yards in 22 games for the Broncos.
In 2023, he made 76 catches (9.1 AVG) for 691 yards (57.6 AVG) and one receiving touchdown in 12 games. He was named First Team All-MAC. In 2024, he made 39 catches (3.9 AVG) for 545 yards (54.5 AVG) and one receiving touchdown in 10 games.
The Blue Bombers also announced that defensive back Shyheim Battle has been removed from the retired list and placed on the active roster.
Arnold Young is six foot four and weighs 285 pounds. The 23-year-old from Mount Holly, New Jersey, signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on December 3, 2025. The Blue Bombers released him on May 19, 2026.
Collegiately, Young spent two seasons at Sussex County Community College (2021-22) as an offensive lineman in 2021, and switched to defensive lineman in 2022 with eight tackles (4 solos, 4 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, one fumble recovery, and one blocked kick in seven games for the Skylanders.
Then, he transferred to Montclair State University (2023-24) with 61 tackles (30 solos, 31 assists), 23.5 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, and two fumble recoveries in 19 games for the Red Hawks. In 2024, he had a career-high 44 tackles (24 solos, 20 assists), 18.5 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, and one fumble recovery in 10 games.
He was named First Team All-Region by D3Football.com, First Team All-NJAC, Fourth Team All-American by D3Football.com, Second Team All-American by the Associated Press, and was named the NJAC Defensive Player of the Year. In addition, he was also named NJAC Honorable Mention in 2023. After his collegiate career ended, Young was a defensive lineman assistant coach at Montclair State University.
Michael Fletcher is six foot six and weighs 275 pounds. The 25-year-old from Flint, Michigan, signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on February 6, 2026. The Blue Bombers released him on May 19, 2026.
The New York Jets signed Fletcher as an undrafted free agent on May 16, 2025. In 2025, he made two tackles (2 solos) and one pass breakup in three preseason games.
Collegiately, Fletcher spent four seasons at Michigan State (2019-22) with 31 tackles (12 solos, 19 assists), four tackles for loss, three sacks, two pass breakups, and one blocked kick in 22 games for the Spartans. He was named a three-time Academic All-Big Ten.
Then, he transferred to Appalachian State (2023-24) with 40 tackles (18 solos, 22 assists), nine tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, one pass breakup, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 23 games for the Mountaineers.
In 2023, he had a career-high 21 tackles (9 solos, 12 assists), 4.5 tackles for loss, one pass breakup, and one forced fumble in 13 games. In 2024, he made 19 tackles (9 solos, 10 assists), 4.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 10 games.
The Blue Bombers also released defensive backs Shyheim Battle and Robert Javier.
Shyheim Battle is six foot two and weighs 195 pounds. The 24-year-old from Rocky Mount, North Carolina, signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on January 22, 2026.
The New York Jets signed Battle as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2024. The Jets released him on June 18, 2024.
The Frankfurt Galaxy of the European League of Football signed Battle on January 15, 2025. In 2025, Battle made 68 tackles (46 solos, 22 assists), four tackles for loss, one interception for four yards, 10 pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 12 games. Battle had signed with the Jacksonville Sharks (IFL) on October 2, 2025.
Collegiately, Battle played four seasons at N.C. State (2020-23) with 144 tackles (95 solos, 49 assists), six tackles for loss, one sack, seven interceptions for 58 yards, 32 pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 48 games for the Wolfpack.
In 2023, he made 46 tackles (30 solos, 16 assists), two tackles for loss, two interceptions for 21 yards, six pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 13 games. He was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention in 2021.
Robert Javier is six foot one and weighs 195 pounds. The 25-year-old from Bronx, New York, signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on February 10, 2026. Javier made two tackles against the Saskatchewan Roughriders last Saturday.
The Tennessee Titans signed Javier as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. In 2024, he made one tackle (1 solo) in three preseason games. The Titans released him on August 27, 2024.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed Javier to the practice squad on September 25, 2024. The Roughriders released him on October 13, 2024. Javier re-signed with the Roughriders on October 29, 2024. In 2025, he made three tackles in one preseason game. The Roughriders released him on June 1, 2025.
Collegiately, Javier spent five seasons at Towson (2019-23) with 77 tackles (55 solos, 22 assists), half a tackle for loss, six interceptions for 212 yards, two touchdowns, and 26 pass breakups in 36 games for the Tigers.
In 2022, Javier made 37 tackles (25 solos, 12 assists), half a tackle for loss, two interceptions for 167 yards, two touchdowns, and 14 pass breakups in 10 games. He finished the season tied for first in the CAA in pass breakups and tied a Towson single-season record with pick-six touchdowns.
In 2023, Javier made 29 tackles (22 solos, 7 assists), four interceptions for 45 yards, and 12 pass breakups in 11 games. His four interceptions led Towson and finished second in the CAA in that category. He was named a two-time Second All-CAA by Phil Steele (2022-23) and Second Team All-CAA in 2023.
