The B.C. Lions released running back Tony Jones Jr. and defensive back D.K. Kaufman on Monday.

Tony Jones Jr. is five foot eleven and weighs 224 pounds. The 28-year-old from St. Petersburg, Florida, signed with the B.C. Lions on January 26, 2026. The Lions released him on May 12, 2026. Jones Jr. had three carries for 11 yards in a preseason game against the Edmonton Elks.

The New Orleans Saints signed Jones Jr. as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2020. He also spent time with the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, and Arizona Cardinals. Jones Jr. played 26 career NFL games with 97 carries for 329 yards, three touchdowns, 17 catches for 96 yards, one kick return for five yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 26 games.

The Arlington Renegades signed Jones Jr. on May 7, 2025. In 2025, Jones Jr. had 17 carries for 66 yards and three catches for 13 yards in three games.

Collegiately, Jones Jr. played four seasons at Notre Dame (2016-19) with 271 carries for 1,524 yards, 12 touchdowns, 27 catches for 273 yards, two touchdowns, 15 tackles (11 solos, 4 assists), and one forced fumble in 39 games for the Fighting Irish. He concluded his collegiate career in the Camping World Bowl against Iowa State, where he rushed for an 84-yard touchdown, which was the longest rush in Notre Dame’s bowl history and Camping World Bowl history.

Donovan “D.K.” Kaufman is five foot ten and weighs 200 pounds. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, signed with the B.C. Lions on November 24, 2025. In 2026, he made one tackle against the Edmonton Elks in a preseason game.

Kaufman attended the Seattle Seahawks rookie minicamp in 2025. The Seahawks signed him on July 28, 2025. He attended training camp and was released on August 5, 2025.

Collegiately, Kaufman played one season at Vanderbilt in 2020 with 15 tackles (8 solos, 7 assists) in two games for the Commodores. Next, he transferred to Auburn (2021-23) with 107 tackles (72 solos, 35 assists), eight tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions for 79 yards, four pass breakups, six forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 32 games for the Tigers.

Then, he transferred to North Carolina State University in 2024 with a career-high 74 tackles (20 solos, 34 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception for 33 yards, one touchdown, four pass breakups, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and one touchdown in 13 games for the Wolfpack.
