After racing was postponed twice, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series finally raced on Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the North Carolina Education Lottery 200. Qualifying was rained out on Friday. Corey Day started the race on the pole, with Layne Riggs starting second.

In the first stage, Corey Day led the opening lap before losing the lead to Layne Riggs. On lap 23, Ty Majeski’s truck was slow, which led to a caution. It was one of 11 cautions throughout the race. Christian Eckes led 18 laps and went on to win the first stage. Eckes would lead a total of 33 laps.

In the second stage, there was a three-truck crash on lap 48 when Giovanni Ruggiero hit Corey Day, sending him hard into the inside wall, and Mini Tyrrell had nowhere to go and hit him. Layne Riggs went on to win the second stage.

As each caution happened, NASCAR went with a timed race with a goal to end it at noon. Layne Riggs was ahead of Kaden Honeycutt. On lap 107, Chandler Smith crashed in the backstretch, and the race ended under caution. Layne Riggs led a race-high 52 laps to win his second race of the season. After the race, Riggs took a bow to pay tribute to the late Kyle Busch.

Kaden Honeycutt, Connor Zilisch, Ben Rhodes, and Giovanni Ruggiero rounded out the top five. Christian Eckes, Brandon Jones, Tanner Gray, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and William Sawalich completed the top ten. Click here to see the full results.

The Craftsman Truck Series heads to Nashville Superspeedway on Friday at 8 pm on FS1.
