Montreal Alouettes sign RB Shomari Lawrence and OL Reuben Fatheree II

The Montreal Alouettes signed running back Shomari Lawrence and offensive lineman Reuben Fatheree II on Friday, according to the CFL Transactions page.

Shomari Lawrence is six foot and weighs 210 pounds. The 24-year-old from Pompano Beach, Florida, attended the Las Vegas Raiders rookie minicamp in 2026.

Collegiately, Lawrence began at the University of South Dakota (2020-22) with 142 carries for 766 yards, four rushing touchdowns, 20 catches for 212 yards, and one receiving touchdown in 17 games for the Coyotes. He was named to the All-MVFC Newcomer Team in 2022 after finishing the season with 107 carries for 597 yards, three rushing touchdowns, 14 catches for 135 yards, and one touchdown in 11 games.

Next, he transferred to Florida International University (2023-24) with 172 carries for 743 yards, five rushing touchdowns, nine catches for 48 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 20 games for the Panthers.

Then, Lawrence transferred to Missouri State University in 2025 with a career-high 199 carries for 1,021 yards, seven rushing touchdowns, 19 catches for 118 yards, and two tackles (2 solos) in 13 games for the Bears.

Reuben Fatheree II is six foot seven and weighs 333 pounds. The 23-year-old from Richmond, Texas, spent five seasons at Texas A&M University (2021-25), playing right tackle and special teams in 50 games for the Aggies.

In 2025, he started nine games. Texas A&M averaged 33.8 points per game, 444.5 yards per game, 259.8 passing yards per game, 184.7 rushing yards per game, and 54 touchdowns, helping the Aggies appear in the College Football Playoff. Fatheree II was named Freshman All-American and SEC All-Freshman Team in 2021.

The Alouettes also announced they placed wide receiver Javon Gipson and defensive lineman David Perales on the suspended list.
