The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed linebacker Ja’Kobe Clinton on Monday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Ja’Kobe Clinton is six foot two and weighs 230 pounds. A native of Sanford, Florida, Clinton began his collegiate career at Southeastern University (2022-23) with 75 tackles (38 solos, 37 assists), 11 tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception for 19 yards, one touchdown, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 14 games for the Fire.
In 2023, he made 50 tackles (25 solos, 25 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception for 19 yards, one touchdown, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 10 games.
Then, he transferred to the University of West Florida (2024-25) with 100 tackles (64 solos, 35 assists), 38 tackles for loss, eight sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, three interceptions, and 10 pass breakups in 19 games for the Argonauts.
In 2025, he was named the GSC Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-GSC, First Team All-Region by D2CCA, and First Team All-American by AFCA after finishing the season with a career-high 78 tackles (51 solos, 27 assists), 19 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two interceptions, nine pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 12 games.
