The Edmonton Elks selected kicker Jesus Gomez and defensive lineman Jeffrey M’Ba in the 2026 CFL Global Draft on Wednesday.
Jesus Gomez is six foot two and weighs 215 pounds. The 22-year-old from Puebla, Mexico, was drafted by the Edmonton Elks in the first round (3rd pick) of the 2026 CFL Global Draft.
Collegiately, Gomez spent three seasons at Eastern Michigan University (2022-24) with 73 kickoffs for 4,435 yards (60.8 AVG), 37 touchbacks, made 46 of 58 field goals (79.3%), with a long of 57 yards, made 95 extra points, and three tackles (2 solos, 1 assist) in 36 games for the Eagles. He was named Second Team All-MAC in 2022.
Then, he transferred to Arizona State in 2025, making 22 of 30 field goals (73.3%), with a long of 54 yards, and made 33 extra points in 13 games for the Sun Devils.
Jeffrey M’Ba is six foot six and weighs 312 pounds. The 27-year-old from Libreville, Gabon, was drafted by the Edmonton Elks in the second round (12th pick) of the 2026 CFL Global Draft. He signed with the Washington Commanders on April 25, 2026.
Collegiately, M’Ba spent two seasons at Independence Community College (2020-21) with 50 tackles (24 solos, 26 assists), 15 tackles for loss, three sacks, and one fumble recovery in 13 games for the Pirates. Next, he transferred to Auburn in 2022 with six tackles (3 solos, 3 assists), one tackle for loss, one sack, and one forced fumble in nine games for the Tigers.
Then, he transferred to Purdue (2023-24) with 46 tackles (23 solos, 23 assists), three tackles for loss, and one sack in 24 games for the Boilermakers. M’Ba concluded his collegiate career at Southern Methodist University in 2025, where he was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention after finishing the season with 42 tackles (16 solos, 26 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, and five sacks in 12 games for the Mustangs.
