The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed wide receiver Kyrese Rowan and defensive tackle De’Jon Benton on Wednesday.
Kyrese Rowan is five foot ten and weighs 175 pounds. The 25-year-old from Ogden, Utah, signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2025. In 2025, he made four catches for 33 yards and one touchdown in three preseason games. He spent the season on and off the practice squad.
Collegiately, Rowan spent three seasons at Utah (2019-21) with four tackles (3 solos, 1 assist) in 17 games for the Utes. Then, Rowan transferred to Utah State (2022-24) with 47 catches for 534 yards, three touchdowns, two carries for four yards, one rushing touchdown, eight kick returns for 188 yards, seven tackles (5 solos, 2 assists), and one blocked kick in 32 games for the Aggies. He was named a three-time Academic All-Mountain West.
De’Jon Benton is six foot two and weighs 270 pounds. The 25-year-old from Pittsburg, California, spent five seasons at the University of Southern California (2019-23) with 32 tackles (17 solos, 15 assists), 6.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks in 34 games for the Trojans.
Then, he transferred to Hawaii in 2025, where he was named Second Team All-Mountain West after finishing the season with 33 tackles (21 solos, 12 assists), 9.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in 12 games for the Rainbow Warriors.
