The Dallas Renegades re-signed linebacker Matt Jones on Wednesday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Matt Jones is six foot two and weighs 236 pounds. A native of Odessa, Texas, Jones was drafted by the Dallas Renegades in the 2026 UFL Draft. He attended training camp, and the team released him on March 19, 2026.
The Las Vegas Raiders signed Jones as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. In 2025, he made seven tackles (3 solos, 4 assists) and one pass breakup in three preseason games. The Raiders released him from the practice squad on September 1, 2025.
Collegiately, Jones spent six seasons at Baylor (2019-24) with 327 tackles (197 solos, 130 assists), 35 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, one interception, 18 pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 62 games for the Bears.
In 2024, he was named First Team All-Big 12 after finishing the season with a career-high 113 tackles (64 solos, 49 assists), 9.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, six pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 13 games. Jones was named Four Team All-Big 12 and an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2022.
